Clearing Drupal 7 Cache Manually

After killing bfclife.co.uk I needed to manually clear the cache to get back on it, after Googling forever I couldn't find out how.  So I did it manually, once connected to the database I ran

TRUNCATE TABLE cache

Problem solved :-)

  1. Andy,

do you think this could help in cases like these, where a whole drupal table seems missing: https://drupal.org/node/2035039

I ask because I've seen somewhere suggestions to clear the cache when drupal "won't start at all", but frankly I'm not sure if this applies to that issue I have.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
